How to install

Because Make It Purr is delivered as a direct APK, you'll install it without Google Play. Android calls this sideloading. It takes about thirty seconds.

Downloading on Android Chrome?

Chrome shows a small "This type of file can harm your device" banner at the bottom of the screen — tap Keep to continue. If you don't, the progress bar gets stuck at 100% while Chrome silently waits for you to confirm. The warning is the normal Android prompt for any non-Play Store APK.

    Open the APK file on your Android phone.

    Tap the download in your notifications, or open your Files app and tap purr-vX.X.X.apk.

    Allow installation from this source.

    The first time, Android will block the install and offer a Settings button. Tap it, toggle Allow from this source on, and tap back. You only do this once per browser.

    Tap Install, then Open.

    If Play Protect warns about an "unknown developer," tap Install anyway. That's expected for apps not distributed through Google Play.

Troubleshooting

The download is stuck at 100% (Android Chrome) +

Chrome is waiting for you to confirm. Look for a "This type of file can harm your device" banner at the bottom of the screen, or pull down your notification shade — tap Keep and the download will finish. If you don't see the banner anymore, cancel the download in Chrome's ⋮ → Downloads menu and tap the email link again to restart.

"App not installed" error +

Usually means a partial download. Delete the APK from your Downloads folder, click the link in your email to download a fresh copy, and try again. If you have an older version of Make It Purr installed, uninstall it first.

Play Protect blocks the install +

Tap More details on the warning, then Install anyway. Google Play Protect is conservative about apps it hasn't seen before — once a few hundred people install Make It Purr, this warning typically goes away.

The download link expired +

Links expire after 24 hours. Email us with the email address you used at checkout and we'll send you a fresh one.

The cat doesn't react to my movement +

Try restarting the app, and make sure it isn't being blocked by your phone's battery optimizer (Settings → Apps → Make It Purr → Battery → Unrestricted). If your phone is older than 2015 it may lack a usable accelerometer — email us and we'll refund.

  • Any device with an accelerometer (essentially every phone from 2015 onward)
  • About 30 MB of free storage

Refunds

If Make It Purr doesn't work on your device, email us within 14 days of purchase and we'll refund you.

Include the email address you used at checkout so we can find your order. Refunds usually arrive in your bank within 5–10 business days depending on your card issuer.
